Teen Therapeutic Interventions: A Quick Overview

Discovery Ranch for Boys – Boys' RTC

Discovery Ranch for Boys is a residential treatment center (RTC) designed for boys who are highly anxious and socially awkward. The program focuses on students who tend to "act in," rather than "act out." The treatment model is experiential and incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as therapeutic services such as Calf and Equine Therapy. The program also offers specialized therapeutic services for boys on the autism spectrum (ASD).

Oxbow Academy – Boys RTC

Oxbow Academy serves boys with anxiety, social awkwardness, and sexual concerns. It specializes in treating Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB) and poor social boundaries. The academy provides comprehensive psycho-sexual evaluations and functional assessments. It also addresses co-occurring issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and PSB. The academy operates a separate campus for latency-age students (ages 10-13). The therapeutic model is experiential, incorporating equine therapy.

Discovery Ranch South – Girls RTC

This program is designed for girls experiencing high levels of anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating and body image concerns, and process addictions. It is clinically intensive, with a strong focus on boundaries and healthy relationships. The therapeutic model is experiential, incorporating both calf and equine therapy.

RedCliff Ascent – Wilderness Therapy Program

This program works with both males and females who need to re-engage with the adolescent stages of development. These students have engaged in dangerous or clinically significant behaviors. Therapy takes place in the backcountry of Southern Utah, and the program follows a trekking model, where students and staff are regularly hiking throughout their time at RedCliff. Research-informed treatment is provided, along with comprehensive psychological testing as needed.
